IAEE and GES have collaborated this year to create a spectacular event following Expo! Expo!. "Humanity Rocks: A Celebration with a Cause" will become an annual affair to offer guests an opportunity to network with other industry professionals while giving back to the local community. Each year, a local non-profit organization (based on the Expo! Expo! host city) will be designated to benefit from the proceeds of the event. Camp Sunshine in Atlanta is this year's charity of choice.
About Camp Sunshine
Children with cancer are normal children with special needs who want to participate fully in the everyday experiences of growing up. Camp Sunshine provides programs throughout the year to give children with cancer the opportunity to enjoy normal activities like swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts, and making friends! Camp Sunshine offers a variety of programs, which encompass the entire family - brothers, sisters and parents! A network of support is made up of other families experiencing the challenges of fighting cancer.
Event Entertainment: VALLEJO
A striking blend of modern rock grooves, potent guitar work, Latin percussion and soulful lyrics has made VALLEJO one of the most popular bands to hail from Austin, Texas. Their music immediately hooks listeners right in, taking them on a roller-coaster ride of musical beats and expressions.
Vallejo has won numerous awards including "Best Rock Band" two years in a row at the Austin Music Awards, Austin's Aguila Award (which recognizes achievement in the Latin Community), awarded their own "Vallejo Day" by the mayor of Austin, Texas, and was nominated for Univision's "Best Latin Rock Band in Austin". Vallejo has also had their songs featured in several TV shows such as WB's Roswell, MTV's Road Rules and UPN's America's Next Top Model.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This event is not included in the Expo! Expo! registration fees. The price to attend Humanity Rocks: A Celebration with a Cause is $75 USD.
